Geoff Spreter

Geoff brings over a decade of wildfire litigation experience to the team, with tens of millions of dollars in recovery for his clients.

He began his wildfire career in the 2007 San Diego Wildfire Cases (trial team and discovery coordinator), where he was involved in the resolution of over 300 cases, and the recovery of $55 million dollars. As a member of the discovery team, Geoff was tasked with taking the depositions of 10 of Sempra Energy and SDG&E’s corporate officers, including Sempra’s CEO, CFO, and Director of Corporate Strategy. Geoff has litigated or is prosecuting the following fire cases: 2011 Coughlin Ranch Fire (co-lead counsel), 2013 Pfeiffer Fire, 2015 Butte Fire, 2016 Erskine Fire, 2017 North Bay Fires, 2017 Thomas Fire and Montecito Mudslides, 2018 Roadrunner Fire, 2018 Woolsey Fire, 2019 Easy Fire and 2019 Sandalwood Fire.

Besides wildfire litigation, Geoff has a strong background in mass tort, consumer fraud, and antitrust. Cases he has worked on have resulted in the recovery of hundreds of millions of dollars for consumers who were victims of false advertising, unfair business practices, and price-fixing conspiracies. He has also tried and arbitrated matters involving breach of fiduciary duty, theft of trade secrets, and business formations.

An expert in wildfire litigation, Geoff is great at explaining complex legal issues to our clients in a way they understand.
